I used JET eSIM on my holiday to Europe. I had no issues with using the eSIM. I purchased an Italy pass while I was in Switzerland. As I was on the train crossing the border into Italy, my phone notified me my eSIM pass was active. Remember to turn off your apps from running in the background as they can use up data quickly. Use Wifi in hotels, shops etc where you can.

I had a really good experience with JET eSIM. Setting it up was quick and easy. It gave me great connectivity and reliable performance. I used it in Switzerland and Italy and had coverage everywhere, from the bottom of valleys to the top of mountains. Make sure you check that your mobile device is eSim compatible before you go overseas. My old device wasn’t compatible so I needed to take a newer phone with me.

Easy install on iPhone and Android

We found that installing on the iPhone was really easy. My partner who has the latest Samsung Galaxy S24, also had no trouble installing the Jet eSIM on her phone. When I purchased the 2 eSIM’s I took a screen shot of our 2 QR codes. While we waiting for our departure flight, she then added her eSIM as a second network by scanning the screenshot of the QR code from my phone. When we landed, her Japan Network (SoftBank) fired up immediately. The 5GB eSIM also was more than enough for our 5 day stay in Tokyo. All in all a pretty easy and smooth process.

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes, you can continue to use your phone number for WhatsApp after installing an eSIM. When you install an eSIM, your phone number stays the same, and you can continue to use it for WhatsApp and other apps like Telegram, Viber or KIK.

Note: If you have turned off your Primary Sim and Global Roaming, then you will not receive phone calls via your usual carrier.

Is my phone compatible?

Check our esim compatible device list. Those listed devices support eSIM installation via automatic online activation. If your device is not listed there, unfortunately it will not work with Jet eSIM packages.

Please note that your device must be unlocked and free of any carrier restrictions in order to install eSIM data plans!

WiFi Hotspot / Internet Sharing?

The Wi-Fi Hotspot / Internet Sharing feature is currently available with all fixed data plans and unlimited plans, including Apple iOS and Android smartphones.

If you are unable to access Wi-Fi Hotspot on your device with a Jet eSIM plan, please try to restart the phone. Sometimes this is required after installing the eSIM for the first time, to fully initialize the network settings and feature availability.

The availability of Wi-Fi Hotspot ultimately depends on the local network operator, and may be restricted in some situations. Although the Wi-Fi Hotspot feature should be available in all regions on all eSIM plans, unfortunately we cannot guarantee availability in every possible situation.
